Make Your Messages Accessible (Outlook):
・Find and fix accessibility issues while composing messages or invitations by using the Accessibility Checker.
Fixes:
・Fix an issue where Word fails to save documents when Excel spreadsheets with certain border content is embedded into the document.
・Fix a long-running issue where Excel fails to save changes on certain enterprise storage configurations such as NetApp FAS units. Excel now adopts the same file saving pattern as Word.
・Fix an issue where images don’t render and are replaced with an error referring to rID#. (PowerPoint)
Office suite:
・Significant improvements for users with accessibility needs.
・Microsoft Error Reporting can be configured to save the last crash log to disk (defaults write com.microsofterrorreporting IsStoreLastCrashEnabled -bool TRUE).
・Better activation message for E1/K1 users. No longer suggests to users that an error occurred and welcomes them to the view-only experience.
・Installer and updater file name format change. For example, Microsoft_Office_2016_15.28.16111300_Installer.pkg instead of Microsoft_Office_2016_15.28.0_161113_Installer.pkg.
Microsoft AutoUpdate:
・Version number updated to 3.8.1.
・Fix an issue where MAU can crash when older versions of Microsoft Silverlight are installed, specifically when Silverlight is registered with a null LCID.
・Fix an issue where MAU can crash when using the ManifestServer preference.
・Microsoft AU Daemon bundle display name changed to “Microsoft Update Assistant.”
・MAU XML feed for 2016 apps no longer include a Triggers dictionary and relies on “Update Version” for version detection.
・MAU now shows the complete version string in the app update window. For example, 15.28.16110300 instead of just 15.28.
