Snagit 2026.1.0 for Mac
Snagit is TechSmith’s flagship screen capture suite for macOS: still screenshots, scrolling captures, screen recordings, GIFs, and rich markup—so teams can document workflows, report bugs, and ship polished visuals without bouncing between half a dozen tools.
Release 2026.1.0 expands sharing and asset workflows, upgrades capture scheduling, and tightens editor polish for everyday annotation work.
What’s new in Snagit 2026.1.0 (Mac)
Share to Camtasia Online: from Snagit Editor, use Share Link and choose Camtasia Online to publish videos into collaborative projects with shared Looks and transitions.
Snagit Assets in-app: browse, search, download, and open photo Assets directly inside Snagit—no separate browser round trip.
Recent Captures Tray pinning: pin images, GIFs, and videos for quick access, reorder items to match a project, then unpin when you are done.
Scheduled & interval image capture: on the Image tab, use Time Delay options to run Schedule captures at a set date/time or Interval captures on a repeating cadence.
Step Capture export: batch-export individual Step Capture images via File > Export > Step Capture images for reuse in other apps.
Editor & capture refinements
Annotation UX: new drawings are auto-selected afterward (toggle in Advanced Settings).
Grab Text: better results on tall captures (e.g., scrolling grabs) and improved color fidelity; gradient previews now show color details in tooltips.
Video reliability: automatic crash recovery for recordings configured to open in Camtasia Editor; Video from Images disables Retina downsampling for sharper output.
Sharing UX: clearer messaging when signing in to share to Google Drive; clearer messaging when a subscription is expired while offline.
Performance, IT, and fixes
Performance: faster adjustments for the Shadow effect plus general stability improvements.
IT deployment: logging library update (spdlog 1.15.2), fix for “Check for Updates” showing when disabled, optional controls to disable the feedback form and TechSmith Fuse mobile connection.
Notable bug fixes: window border/shadow handling on macOS Tahoe 26, playback issues for some non-Snagit videos, Library Quick Look arrow navigation, template section resizing quirks, and Share Link reliability after changing Snagit’s color theme on Tahoe.

Feature names and availability can vary by license (subscription vs. perpetual where offered). Always verify against your account and installer build.
Since the 2023 version, every new version works a time or two, and then freezes up to the point where I can’t even force quit it.
Version 2023.3.2 (98285) works, anything after freezes. Using Lulu to block access, and running on latest OS on MBP M4.
Mount the image and launch Open Gatekeeper Friendly.
Press Enter to bypass Gatekeeper in the Terminal window.
Drag the application to the Applications folder.
The application is ready to use.
