Objective/Summary
By adding the hostname “PC-abc” in the etc/hosts/ file with IP and then re-starting the license server will fix this issue.
Notes
Issue:
Trying to install itest 4.2 licenses and when we start the license server below error displayed:
4:37:45 (lmgrd) Unknown host: PC-abc
4:37:45 (lmgrd) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 33 Exit reason 1
Solution:
This error might occur if the license server is not finding the host name. By adding the hostname “PC-abc” in the following file with IP and then re-starting the license server will fix this issue.
%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (for Windows PC)
/etc/hosts (for Linux/Unix/Mac)
where %SystemRoot% is the Windows installation folder, usually ‘C:\Windows’.
This file should list a “loopback” address of 127.0.0.1 which contains the hostnames of this computer. If this line is missing the computer hostname, add the hostname to the line as shown below.
127.0.0.1 localhost
Should become
127.0.0.1 localhost PC-abc

For anyone having issues, go to the KeyShot 2023 link and follow the directions posted by IKA on March 23. I just went through them and they work perfectly for KeyShot 2024.

No video needed. Follow these steps exactly. Copy and paste the commands. It will work.
1. Install keyshot_mac64_2024.1_13.0.0.92
2. Replace 2 files in folder /Applications/KeyShot.app/Contents/MacOS
3. Move folder flexnetserver to /usr/local/
4. Using Terminal, execute cd /usr/local/flexnetserver
5 (A) ./lmgrd -c keyshot.dat
5 (B) control + click on LUXION exe in /usr/local/flexnetserver
and Open with Terminal
(because MacOS cannot verify it by itself)
6. Launch Keyshot and choose activation with floating license server
7. Write “localhost” and go to next step
8. Done
To make it work at every boot you have to create an automated task like so :
1. open Terminal
2. type : env EDITOR=nano crontab -e
3. type : @reboot cd /usr/local/flexnetserver; ./lmgrd -c keyshot.dat
4. to save do : ctrl + x, Y, enter
5. and VOILA
