Typical Mac workflow
You pick from 50 bundled HD stereo sounds—rain on a tent, ocean waves, brown noise, a box fan, and dozens more—or browse cover-flow photos to jump to a favorite. The Mix Pad lets you layer multiple sounds and adjust levels into a custom soundscape, while generator tools can produce binaural beats, color noise, and tones. Timers slowly fade audio out at night; alarms fade in for gentler mornings. A digital sleep clock mode turns the window into a bedside display with swipe-adjustable colors and brightness.
Thousands of additional community sounds are free through White Noise Market, and everything plays locally with no gaps and no cellular data use. You can record and loop your own audio, build playlists with per-track durations, and save favorites for quick access. Full-screen mode with on-screen media controls suits a docked MacBook on a nightstand or a desktop at work.
Licensing and version 7.6.1
The paid Mac App Store edition costs $4.99, includes no ads, and supports Family Sharing. White Noise Lite remains free on Mac with ads and fewer extras; TMSOFT sells one-time upgrades rather than subscriptions. Version 7.6.1, released 7 May 2026 per the App Store, shares the 7.6 release notes: updated app icons and minor bug fixes. It requires macOS 11.5 or later. TMSOFT reports that the app collects no user data.
