A third-party macOS utility by developer Bohdan that recreates Apple’s removed Launchpad experience—a fullscreen or compact grid for browsing, organizing, and launching installed apps without relying on Spotlight typing or an overcrowded Dock.
Everyday use on Mac
AppHub scans Applications folders and builds a paginated icon grid with folders, drag-and-drop reordering, search, and keyboard selection. Open it from the Dock, a global shortcut, hot corners, or trackpad pinch/spread gestures (Trackpad Support Engine runs without Accessibility for gesture capture, though some badge features need Accessibility). Compact mode shrinks the grid into a movable window; full-screen mode mirrors classic Launchpad behavior, including click-outside-to-dismiss and page dots.
You can hide apps, rename icons locally, import legacy Launchpad layouts from macOS 15 databases, back up grid layouts, and uninstall apps through macOS’s normal security flow. Appearance options cover light/dark modes, custom backgrounds, grid scaling for different monitors, and on macOS 26 Tahoe a Liquid Glass background style that matches Apple’s newer visual language.
Distribution and requirements
Apple rejected AppHub from the Mac App Store for closely replicating Launchpad’s look and feel, so the app is sold directly via Gumroad with a downloadable trial from bringbacklaunchpad.com. A license key activates on one Mac. macOS 15.0 or later is required; Tahoe-specific features such as Liquid Glass need macOS 26. Intel and Apple Silicon builds are distributed.
Version 3.5.0
Build 3.5.0 (July 2026) is the current line after 3.4.0 and 3.2.0 in the same month. The developer has not published a dedicated changelog for 3.5.0 on the official site—documentation still references v3.3.0—so treat this build as an incremental update in the ongoing Launchpad-replacement roadmap rather than a documented feature release.
