BentoBox v1.1.7 for Mac
BentoBox by Friendly Ventures is a macOS window manager inspired by FancyZones: define custom snap zones, then place, move, and span windows with the mouse, trackpad, or keyboard—across monitors and macOS Spaces.
Version 1.1.7 (build 371) is a patch focused on Settings scrolling and snapping reliability around BentoBox’s own windows.
What’s new in v1.1.7
- More reliable Settings scrolling: the General tab now uses the same scrollable height as Shortcuts, so longer content stays contained and easier to browse
- Cleaner snapping around BentoBox windows: BentoBox ignores its own windows when watching for snap gestures, so the snap overlay no longer appears while you use the Settings window
Key features
- Tiled and windowed layouts — grid zones or freeform overlapping regions
- Multiple layouts per monitor with per-Space layouts that follow macOS Spaces
- Snap while dragging (right-click or Shift), per-zone shortcuts, and optional dragless snap (⌘⇧)
- Move, cycle, and span windows across zones; smart spanning on ultrawide and multi-display setups
- Custom gaps, theming, launch at login, optional auto-snap on layout change, and built-in updates (beta channel optional)
- Requires Accessibility permission to move and resize other apps’ windows
