Pixologic ZBrush 2020 for Mac
ZBrush 2020 from Pixologic is industry-standard digital sculpting software for characters, creatures, props, and 3D-print-ready assets—built around high-resolution mesh sculpting, DynaMesh, ZRemesher, and production pipelines in film, games, and collectibles.
Released 12 November 2019, ZBrush 2020 was a major free update for registered users, adding history-aware brushes, UV sculpting, stronger 3D-print analysis, and workflow tools for painting and manufacturing prep.
What’s new in ZBrush 2020
Sculpting & history:
- HistoryRecall brush — paint a past Undo state onto the current model for selective undo/redo; topology-independent, usable across models
- XTractor brushes (3) — capture local surface detail and reuse it as alphas or painted detail elsewhere
- Infinite Depth — apply brush influence along the cursor line (e.g. matching front and back limbs at once)
- No Back&Forth — strokes apply only on forward movement; pairs with LazyMouse Backtrack
- ZeeZoo ZSphere armatures for creature bases; DecoBrush upgraded to a true 3D tool
UV, paint & view:
- Morph UV — sculpt and PolyPaint on a flattened UV layout; better long strokes and Spotlight projection
- Texture / PolyPaint Adjust Color — hue, saturation, contrast, gamma, and tint with color-based masking
- CamView orientation widget; Real-Time Silhouette for silhouette checks while sculpting
3D printing & export:
- Real-Time Draft Analysis for mould-friendly angles
- Wall Thickness overlay via PolyPaint
- Calculate Surface Area — bounding box, volume, surface area, watertight checks
- Unified Import/Export Options for OBJ, FBX, STL, PLY, VRML
Key capabilities
- Millions of polygons with efficient brush-based sculpting
- Polypaint, Spotlight texturing, Fibermesh, NanoMesh, and pipeline tools (GoZ, etc.)
- Used in VFX, games, toy design, jewelry, and rapid prototyping workflows
