  1. None of the steps work, the guy in the comment never tell us where or how to put “/usr/local/flexnetserver/” and just made things impossible for newbies. Also the Asdk licensing services are gone from this version of Maya, this hacker tries to copy the windows version of Maya 2024 but failed at everything to make it run for anyone else. A case of “It WoRkS oN My MAcHiNE” nonsense.

  2. I can verify ‘Tony’s’ install instructions work perfectly.
It’s a f**kin’ pain in the butt, but if you follow the instructions to the tee, it will work.

  3. Maya worked ok the first time I installed. The next time I open it again, it just loads and stops opening,
Can you tell me what the problem could be?

  4. this Worked for me
How to install any 2020-2025 Autodesk product!

1.- Disable SIP from Recovery macOS boot.
Reboot in recovery mode (command + R), open Terminal and type “csrutil disable” and restart.

2.- Install Autodesk Products for mac 2020-2025

    3.- Install AdskLicensing-14.1.0.10619-mac-installer.pkg

    4.- Install nlm11.19.4.0_ipv4_ipv6_mac64.tar

5.- Copy from medicine folder the libadlmint.dilyb and apply it on:

    /Library/Application Support/Autodesk/AdskLicensing/Current/AdskLicensingAgent/AdskLicensingAgent.app/Contents/PlugIns/

    6.- Create folder licenses on:

    /usr/local/flexnetserver/

    Copy License.dat into it.

6.- Copy from medicine folder the adskflex and apply it on:

    /usr/local/flexnetserver/

    7.- Open Terminal and type:

    cd/usr/local/flexnetserver

    8.- Execute (copy/paste and enter):

    sudo /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c /usr/local/flexnetserver/licenses/license.dat

    Close Terminal

9.- RUN Autodesk Product of you choice and choose Use a network license and type “27080@localhost”

10.- Open “System Preferences / System Settings” according to your MacOS and goto “Login Items” and add “Terminal” using the “+” symbol in the down left corner.

11.- To make it run from Boot, copy hidden file .profile to /Users/macpro/ where “macpro” is admin user

    Contents of .profile file is:

    /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c /usr/local/flexnetserver/licensex/license.dat

More info here for make it run from boot:https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-start-license-server-on-Mac-OS-X-automatically.html

  5. I have done all the steps indicated in the readme, including creating the “licenses” folder within /usr/local/flexnetserver and copying the “license.dat” file there and it does not work for me. It asks me if I want a trial license.

Can somebody help me? what should I do?

  6. When executing sudo /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c license.dat
    TCP_NODELAY NOT enable
    How to fix this?

    1. Hi, After you put sudo /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c license.dat
drop the license.dat in the terminal then hit enter and enter your password

  7. (lmgrd) Unknown Hostname: *.local
specified in the license file is not available in the local network database
22:35:22 (lmgrd) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 33 Exit reason 1

  8. For me, after making and copying all the directories and files it would nover work until I finally typed this in the terminal

    sudo /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c license.dat

    1. I stand corrected. On system 14.4.1 intel version, I need to run the terminal command below ever time I restart my Mac before running Maya 2025

      sudo /usr/local/flexnetserver/lmgrd -c license.dat

  9. The only thing I found missing in the steps was copying the license.dat into the /usr/local/flexnetserver directory since that is not mentioned (but assumed since that is where its looking for it).

This all works for me and no permissions errors, etc. AND I can see with I run lmgrd the list of various licenses it has, but running any of the Autodesk 2025 products and telling it “Network License Server” and “27080@localhost” for the serve doesn’t seem to work. In my case the splash screen goes away but then it just quits and does not run the app (on a M2 Ultra here with Sonoma 14.4.1)

    1. Can confirm now that this *does* work for me. I thought I had SIP turned off but only had it partially turned off. You do need to copy the license.dat file as indicated in the other posts, but this works for me once I had truly run “csrutil disable” in Recovery mode and wasn’t just running in the reduced security mode.

      1. Maya worked ok the first time I installed. The next day it did not open using network license and showed a message that cannot found license in network database.
        Any help!!!!

  10. I was able to get through the entire process of installing Maya up until the final step before re-enabling SIP and hit a snag.

On the “/usr/local/flexnetserver and execute /lmgrd -c license.dat” command, I am getting an error, “permission denied: /usr/local/flexnetserver”. I suspect a step or small piece of information may be missing from the Read Me instructions.

I’m no expert in terminal; if there is even a single step missing, I have no idea what that missing step(s) would be therefore, no idea how to solve this kind of problem.

Can someone please assist me with getting this to work? I will thank you profusely.

    1. There is one step is missing in redme file.
You have to copy license.dat file into /usr/local/flexlm/licenses/ folder. make the folders for flexlm/licenses/ inside /usr/local/flexlm as they did not exist.
