What Hype 4 Pro does on Mac
Tumult Hype is a native macOS app for creating animated, interactive HTML5 content without hand-coding timelines, scenes, and export-ready web output from a visual editor.
Hype 4 Pro adds professional tools on top of the Standard edition: responsive layouts, symbols, physics, waypoints, sprite-sheet import, advanced export for ads, fallback poster images, external editor integration, behaviors, OAM and APNG export, and more. You build scenes with keyframes, Bézier motion paths, vector shape morphing, actions, and JavaScript hooks, then export self-contained HTML5 that runs in modern browsers and on mobile devices.
Typical Mac workflow
Designers start with scene sizes for web, ads, or iBooks widgets, animate elements on one or more timelines, and preview in Safari, Chrome, or Hype Reflect on iPhone and iPad. Action handlers respond to taps, swipes, and timeline events. For ad workflows, Advanced Export tunes file size and integrates with common ad networks. Export scripts can extend the HTML5 output pipeline when you need custom deliverables.
Version 4.1.21
Build 4.1.21 is a maintenance update currently listed on the Mac App Store. Apple’s release notes report a fix for a macOS Tahoe issue where thumbnail generation briefly flashed a window, a change to the default GIF encoding engine, and support for more browsers in the preview menu. Tumult’s direct-download site still offered 4.1.20 at the time of writing, so standalone users may receive 4.1.21 slightly later through in-app updates.
Licensing and requirements
Hype requires macOS 10.10 or later through macOS 26 Tahoe and runs as a Universal app on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The free download includes a 14-day fully functional trial; Hype Professional unlocks via in-app purchase (typically around $69.99 on the App Store). v4.x updates are free for existing v4 owners. Licenses are separate between the Mac App Store and Tumult Store direct builds.
