Elmedia Video Player is a native macOS media player from Eltima (Electronic Team). The free app handles most video and audio formats without extra codecs; Pro unlocks streaming to TVs and receivers, advanced picture and sound tools, and unlimited casting.
Playback on Mac
Elmedia plays AVI, MP4, MKV, FLV, WMV, MOV, MP3, FLAC, and many other formats with hardware-accelerated decoding on Intel and Apple Silicon. You get playlist management, subtitle support (embedded and external), online subtitle search via OpenSubtitles, timeline preview thumbnails, bookmarks, speed control, and optional experimental H.266/VVC playback from earlier releases.

Streaming with Pro
Pro removes the free edition’s short streaming trial limit and adds full home-theater casting. Control playback from the Mac while video plays on the big screen; subtitle burning and streaming with subtitles are supported on many targets.

Build 8.24 (3472), released 5 December 2025, adds M4B audiobook file support plus minor fixes and stability improvements. Requires macOS 10.13 or later. On the Mac App Store, Pro is a one-time in-app purchase (about $19.99); activation applies automatically after purchase.
