Parallels Desktop Business Edition v17.1.1-51537 Multilingual macOS
Parallels Desktop is one of the oldest and most popular applications for virtualization on macOS. There are quite a few options out there for Mac users who want to run other operating systems on their Apple devices, but none are quite as intuitive and novice-friendly as Parallels.
This app allows you to Run Windows, various flavors of Linux, ChromeOS, Android, and many other operating systems in virtual machines, and it makes setting up and configuring these VMs incredibly straightforward. Much of the process is automated, and the virtualized OSes integrate well with macOS.
Anyone can start up a virtual machine with Parallels
It really is that simple. Compared to alternatives like VirtualBox or VMware, it is much easier to create a virtual machine and install an OS. For instance, if you want a Windows 10 VM, the startup wizard guides you through the entire process. It only takes a few clicks and absolutely no technical knowledge.
If you skip the initial Win10 wizard, Parallels still has an installation assistant that can help you set up Windows, Linux, and many other operating systems. The Windows 10 Test and Development environments are available for free, as are numerous Linux flavors and Android, and you can even install macOS from the recovery partition or convert a Boot Camp installation to a VM.
Excellent integration with macOS
Aside from installing Windows via Boot Camp, which isn’t likely to be supported on Apple Silicon, Parallels offers possibly the most seamless experience when running another operating system on your Mac.
MacBook Pro users can add Windows apps to the Touch Bar, Office integration lets documents in Safari open in their native Windows apps, and full support is available for Retina displays for the best visual experience.
Sharing files between your Mac and Windows VM could not be easier, as files on the desktop are instantly accessible from either OS, no matter where they were created.
If you want to take things one step further, just enable Coherence Mode. Once it is active, all applications in your Windows VM will appear in separate windows directly on your Mac’s desktop, almost as if they were running natively on macOS.
Not just for beginners
Of course, Parallels Desktop is available in multiple editions, with the Pro and Business variants geared towards professionals and enterprises respectively. While the Standard edition includes most features, it limits the amount of RAM and virtual CPUs you can use for each VM and lacks some advanced deployment and management tools.
These include integration with Docker, Vagrant, and Microsoft Visual Studio, among others, VM transferring and deployment capabilities, debugging tools, and centralized administration and management.
Probably the best virtualization application for macOS
Whether you’re just starting out or you have a lot of experience with running VMs, nothing can beat the streamlined experience you get with Parallels, and it doesn’t lose out to its competitors when it comes to the number of available features either.
With Boot Camp seemingly doomed on Apple Silicon, Parallels will likely be one of the few virtualization options available for M1 Mac users.
What’s New:
Version 17.1.1:
- Optimized for Windows 11 and macOS Monterey, Parallels Desktop continues to stay up to date so you can keep working without interruption—even when a new macOS, Windows or Linux release pops up.
Version 17.1.0:
Windows:
- To meet the Windows 11 requirements and increase compatibility with Windows 11, a virtual TPM chip is added automatically to new Windows 11 virtual machines. This improvement also simplifies creating new installations of Windows 11, installing Windows 11 updates and upgrading to Windows 11.
- For new Windows 10 virtual machines created on Mac computers with the Apple M1 chip, a virtual TPM chip is added automatically.
- When a TPM chip is added to the virtual machine configuration, Windows Secure Boot is enabled automatically.
Linux:
- Support for VirGL in Virtio GPU which enables Linux 3D acceleration out of the box in supported Linux distributions, brings visual performance improvements, and allows using the Wayland protocol in Linux virtual machines.
macOS 12 Monterey:
- Full support for macOS 12 Monterey as a host operating system.
- Improved support for macOS 12 Monterey virtual machines on Mac computers running Monterey and equipped with the Apple M1 chip:
- Install Parallels Tools in macOS 12 Monterey and copy and paste text between the virtual machine and Mac.
- The default virtual machine disk size has been increased from 32 to 64 GB.
Games:
- Resolves graphics issues with various Windows games including, but not limited to: World of Warcraft, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Tomb
- Raider III, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, World of Tanks, and Raft.
Compatibility: macOS 10.13.6 or later 64-bit

December 14, 2021 10:36 am
Installato su Macbook Air 2017 (intel i7) Monterey 12.1, fatto aggiornamento sulla versione 16.01 PD
All’inizio non ha aperto nessuna VM esistente
risolto con la soluzione di “Archie”
In impostazioni > Hardware > CPU e Memoria Passa a Manuale,
fai clic su “Avanzate” e passa da Hypervision Apple a Parallels.
Tutte la macchine virtuali esistenti funzionano bene.
Buona fortuna.

For those with M1 and for all the others that Parallels will not even Install. Go to the official download website parallels.com and download the trial version. Create a new VM and when it’s installed close the parallels. On terminal paste the following commands one by one:
1) open -a Parallels\ Desktop %FirstThisLineWhichStartsParallels
2) prlctl start “virtual machine name” %ThenThisLineWhichStartsTheOperatingSystem(virtual machine name e.g. Windows 10)
When vm starts it will prompt you with the trial error. Go to terminal again and run once again the command
prlctl start “virtual machine name” and then close the trial error window. Windows on parallels should now run fine!
December 14, 2021 3:53 pm
Can you show where the command starts and end please?
December 14, 2021 10:18 pm
without the %
%open -a Parallels\ Desktop%
%prlctl start “virtual machine name”%

Can you elaborate this more? I cannot understand what you say?

Not working on Mac mini with M1
December 14, 2021 3:21 pm
Launch Terminal and run the sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml command.
Locate the 1 line.
Then change it to 0
December 14, 2021 7:41 pm
This above is the step to fix network!
Change value of “UseKextless” value from -1 to 0, inside the file /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
You maybe will need to grant writing permit to this file, or else copy it to another location, edit file and overwrite it in the original location.
I just did that and after reentering to my VMS all had internet and works fine!
(NOTE: I am using Macbook Pro Intel, running Monterrey, and the installer 17.1.1.15137 on this post)
December 25, 2021 7:14 pm
He intentado hacer lo que dices y ese valor no lo encuentro en el archivo /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
December 15, 2021 12:55 am
Network Work Intel Monterrey
edit :
/Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
Change lines to …:
Line 3:
0
Line 5:

Can you please be more specific? I’ve tried this and still not working

I confirm : it works great on Intel Macs and hackintosh…
Just change the hypervisor to “Parallels” in advanced hardware / CPU options.

Ok! You spent 3K € in new MacBook Pro and you can’t spent 100€ in License????? jajajajaja Amazing
January 17, 2022 7:46 pm
Take a look at their idiotic licence system. If you buy a licence, you are able to run parallels on one device. So, if I have iMac and Macbook, I have to buy 2 licences. They could have from me each year 80 euros, but they have 0 euros. Running vmware player, which is for free.

John, I’m using PD Runner and works very well. I just saw that the Github repository has been banned but you find it by searching Google PD Runner 0.3.6.
January 22, 2022 12:59 am
La única solución que yo he encontrado por el momento es instalar desde la web de parallels y cuando expira el periodo de prueba cambiar la fecha del sistema.
January 25, 2022 2:01 pm
unbelievable ,even 17.1.1 dosn’t work ,what happens last time 🤮
January 26, 2022 4:17 pm
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), macOS Catalina 10.15.7.
Blocked access to parallels.com and disabled any connections to/from prl_updater_ctl.
Everything works fine so far.

How I can solve the problem
Please help.
February 18, 2022 8:30 am
Hello,
This version definitely works with Intel Macs & hackintosh ! (even in Monterey).
Simply apply this fixes after install:
– Nag screen in Windows : find the patch for “DesktopUtilities” in the Parallels Tools folder.
– USB disk drives:
sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
1 (instead of “0” value)
– Network:
sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
0
Once you applied these 3 things, everything works absolutely flawlessly.

Hello.
I do not understand how the first step is performed. I could tell me more clearly.
Thank you very much.

Here are all the tricks in another language, but easy to translate !
Solution is for PD version 16, but it is exactly the same fix with version 17.
Por fin encontré la solución a este problema. Os muestro como he instalado el programa y ya no sale el dichoso mensaje nunca más:
1) Desconectar de internet
2) Ejecutar esto antes en una terminal:
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/file.dmg
donde “file.dmg” es Parallels Desktop.dmg
3) Intalar Parallels Desktop 16.1.2-49151
4) Configurar las actualizaciones automáticas a “nunca” y desactivar checkbox
5) Solución a los problemas de red y USB:
Ver este vídeo: Network and USB Fix
Network fix:
1. sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
2. find 1 (value can be -1), and change the value to the 0
3. if you can’t to find this tag, then just create it under root tag here
Press CTRL+O to save the changes. Press CTRL+X to exit the editor.
USB Fix:
1. sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
2. If the current value is 0 then replace with 1
Press CTRL+O to save the changes. Press CTRL+X to exit the editor.
6) logearse en windows para automáticamente instalar/actualizar el “Parallels Tools”
7) con un programa gratuito como Free Hex Editor Neo debes editar y modificar el byte 0x5593 de este archivo DLL:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins\DesktopUtilities.dll
cambia el valor de “74” a “EB”. El mensaje “This copy of Parallels Desktop may not be genuine…” No aparecerá nunca más

I have a M1 Mac Mini 2020 with MacOS Monterey 12.2.1
I can install it, but I can’t run it. Someone was able to install and run it successfully on a Mac Mini M1 2020 with macOS Monterey v 12.2.1? Thanks.
BTW I was able to download/install and run Parallels from their website without a problem, but when I install this version, I won’t be able to run it at all.
